Bank of America Cyber Crisis Management Lead in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description:

Position is develop and lead the Cyber Crisis Management program to prepare Global Information Security (GIS) to respond to major cyber threats through the development of the Cyber Crisis Response Program. The lead will be responsible for developing strategies/frameworks that enable GIS execute a coordinated response to severe cyber threat and seamless integrate into the Bank's Enterprise Response Framework. Key activities include fostering strategic partnerships within GIS, the enterprise, and the sector, integrating best in class response activities into existing routines to mitigate impact during recovery, develop risk models proactively under our risks of a major incident. Additional activities include:

  • Establishing a cross functional team and integrating with existing response process to further evolve our response protocols.

  • Creating a training and exercise model for responders, crisis responders, and the GIS SLT to practice key hand-offs during a cyber event.

  • Develop routines with threat intelligence partners to proactively identify high risk targets and threats.

  • Leverage threat intelligence and exercise results and partner with BISOs/RISO to determine the need for additional LOB controls or testing.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Expertise in using computers to accomplish productivity tasks.

  • Strong knowledge of information security incident command structure.

  • Basic knowledge of information technology concepts such as operating systems, networking, and application programming.

  • 5-7 years of background in the information security field.

  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries to accomplish tasks.

  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex organizational structures.

  • Ability to quickly learn new and complex concepts.

  • Ability to direct personnel towards a set of goals and hold them accountable.

  • Ability to think strategically about information security problems and translate those thoughts into concrete plans.

  • Familiarity with business continuity and crisis management planning concepts.

  • Familiarity with cyber exercise programs.

  • Solid program and team management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Solid understanding of risk management concepts.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Managing information security incidents.

  • Expertise in business continuity or crisis management concepts and best practices.

  • Expertise in creating crisis plans.

  • Expertise in information technology fields such as operating systems, networking, and application programming.

  • Understanding of quantitative risk management methodologies such as FAIR.

Enterprise Role Overview:

Directs multiple / major technology teams within Information Security that research, engineer, develop, implement, communicate, monitor, and maintain the information security (authentication, perimeter security, security & compliance tools, etc), & directory technology systems (software & hardware) and security policies / procedures. Utilizes in-depth technical / project knowledge and business requirements to design / direct secure solutions to meet customer / client needs while protecting the Bank's assets. Serves as organization spokesperson with other technology or business groups. Exercises independent judgment in directing staff to achieve results. Works independently with directions / goals from the Information Security Technology Executive. Typically 7-10 years of experience, including people management responsibility.
