Sodexo's University Dining Segment is seeking a Chef Manager to support a dynamic new restaurant-style FoD (Food on Demand) program within one of our Residential Dining Halls on the campus of the University at Albany. The program features cutting-edge cuisine facilitated through the use of touch-screen ordering systems. We are looking for a our Chef Manager to be the face of the Sodexo culinary program in this busy resident dining unit and to engage with students and continue to elevate the culinary program.

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • Manage the daily food production including production planning and controls;

  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;

  • Manage food costing, controls and compliance;

  • Develop menus and manage inventory;

  • Have high expectations for customer service and quality of food;

  • Have the ability and willingness to develop and train front-line employees;

  • Have a passion for food and innovation;

  • Have knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems (FMS).

Position Summary

Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables. May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

  • Handles administrative functions.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent

Basic Management Experience - 1 year
